Machinist to perform as Elvis at charity concert
Elvis impersonator Tracy Alan Moore, a member of Machinists Union District Lodge 751 who works for the Boeing Co. in Everett, plans to perform with his band, Rising Sun, to benefit for Guide Dogs of America. The concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Everett Historic Theatre. District 751 is the top fundraiser for Guide Dogs of America. Over the past six years, union members have raised nearly $1.8 million for the charity. Credit union to offer free shredding event in Everett
WSECU is hosting a free Shred &Share event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at WSECU’s Everett Branch located at 404 128th St. SW, Everett. It will also be a community donation drive for Everett Food Bank. The event is open to the public. Each person may bring three boxes of documents for shredding.
Recology Store plans ribbon-cutting ceremony
The Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its July After Hours Social alongside the The Recology Store’s ribbon cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. July 29. The Recology Store offers products that encourage waste reduction by embracing reuse with unique, upcycled goods. The store is located at 22833 Bothell Everett Highway, Suite 111, Bothell.
Nominate businesses that contribute to the community
The Office of Secretary of State is accepting nominations for a 2015 Corporations for Communities Award. The deadline to nominate a company is Aug. 31. Washington’s highest civics award is for corporations or businesses that help the community in some meaningful way. Learn about state’s aerospace exports at new website
A new interactive map on the Washington State Department of Commerce’s marketing website, ChooseWashington.com, allows users to explore details of the relationship that America’s largest aerospace exporter state has with the rest of the world. The new webpage employs interactive maps developed with software from Seattle-based LiveStories to highlight details about Washington’s aerospace imports and exports.
