Boeing unveils new Seahawk 747

EVERETT — The Seahawks’ season doesn’t start until next month, but Boeing just couldn’t wait that long to show its support.

The company rolled out a 747-8 from its Paine Field paint hangar with a freshly painted Seahawks livery Sunday afternoon. A huge ‘12’ is emblazoned on the freighter’s vertical fin.

Boeing hasn’t found a buyer yet for the freighter, which is line number 1520.

The aerospace giant painted a 747-8 in a Seattle Seahawks livery in 2014 during the team’s run to winning Super Bowl XLVIII.

That jumbo jet was eventually delivered in the customer’s livery.

The latest Seahawks 747 will fly over Seafair at Lake Washington on Aug. 2 as part of the air show, which Boeing sponsors.

After that, it will participate in other activities related to the Seahawks, the company said in a news release.
