After a woman is shot in Everett, the police chief makes the arrest

EVERETT — Everett Police Chief Dan Templeman arrested a suspect in a shooting early Sunday.

Templeman happened to be in north Everett on a fireworks patrol when a call came in at 12:07 a.m. Sunday of a disturbance in the 2400 block of Highland Avenue, said Everett Police Officer Aaron Snell.

As the chief and other officers headed to the address, the report was updated to say a woman had been shot.

After a search, Templeman located and arrested a 28-year-old man a short distance away in the 2600 block of Chestnut Street.

The suspect was booked into jail for investigation of first-degree assault.

The shooting victim was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Her injuries were believed to be non-life threatening, Snell said.

“Ultimately this turned into a domestic violence incident,” Snell said.

Everett detectives are continuing the investigation.
