EVERETT — The body of a woman was recovered Tuesday from Ebey Slough, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday.
The woman’s death is believed to be suspicious and homicide detectives are investigating. The woman’s name and cause of death have not been released.
A witness called 911 Monday around 8:30 p.m. after seeing a body floating face down in the Snohomish River, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The Snohomish County Search and Rescue team searched for the woman Monday night. The search was suspended at nightfall.
The crew returned late Tuesday morning and a team on a hovercraft located the woman’s body near the 630 block of Sunnyside Boulevard. She was removed from the water around 7 p.m.
No other details were made available Friday.
