ARLINGTON — A fire in an abandoned building at the former Northwest Hardwoods sawmill was extinguished quickly Thursday evening.
The fire was reported around 6 p.m. in a building in the 20000 block of 67th Avenue NE.
Arlington Fire Department officials suspect that someone started the blaze, but don’t know if it was intentional or an accident.
Witnesses said they saw two young people sitting on the roof on the back of the building as they drove past.
Shortly afterward, someone reported the fire.
When firefighters arrived, they could see flames out the back of the building and through the roof.
Arlington received mutual aid from the Rural Arlington and Marysville fire districts.
Arlington police are investigating.
