Community Transit given ‘Above and Beyond Award’
The Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve organization has presented Community Transit of Snohomish County with an Above and Beyond Award in recognition of extraordinary support of their employees who are active in the National Guard and Reserves. Community Transit actively seeks military employees and provides generous benefits to active Guard and Reservists when they are called to duty.
United Way awards $50,000 in grants to nonprofits
Local nonprofits are recipients of United Way of Snohomish County’s financial education grants totaling $50,000. Grant recipients include: Arlington Resource Center; Boys &Girls Club of Snohomish County/Everett Club; Financial Beginnings; Housing Hope; Lake Stevens &Granite Falls Family Support Centers; Senior Services of Snohomish County; and Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help. Funds were provided by the Boeing Company.
PUD gives coffee for Planet Power contribution increases
New and existing customers of the Snohomish County PUD’s Planet Power program who increase their contribution by at least $3 a month will receive 12-ounce Twilight Blend coffee from local roaster Velton’s Coffee. Customers can sign up for Planet Power by filling out the card in their bill, by calling 425-783-1700, or online here.
Edmonds siblings launch marijuana social media site
Brother and sister Jeffrey Newton and Crystal Newton of Edmonds recently launched the Cannabis Connection. It is a social media site geared to business professionals in the Marijuana Industry.
