Jennifer Graves will lead Swedish Edmonds

EDMONDS — Jennifer Graves, the interim chief executive at Swedish Edmonds, will lose the “interim” designation June 1 and assume the role full time, Swedish Health Services announced Wednesday.

She has been serving as both chief executive and nurse executive at Swedish Ballard and as interim chief executive in Edmonds.

During her six-year term at the Seattle hospital, a five-story medical office building was opened. A new cancer center, post-partum unit, nursery and in-patient behavioral health program also were begun during her leadership there, Swedish said.

Graves could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Before coming to Swedish, Graves worked at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. She was a nursing professor at Seattle Pacific University and Northwest University in Kirkland, Swedish said.

Graves takes over from David Jaffe, whose retirement was effective at the end of last year. Jaffe had been named interim chief executive of the Edmonds hospital in 2011. Prior to taking the job in Edmonds, Jaffe served for 16 years as chief executive of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He left that job in 2007.
