EVERETT — Pacifica Chamber Orchestra artistic director Fred Chu says audiences can expect a colorful, fresh and diverse program Sunday.
The orchestra performs its Spring Concert at 3 p.m. April 19 at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Tickets are $20 general admission or $15 for seniors and students. They will be for sale at the door.
The concert begins with a fun and lively piece, “Concerto de Camara for Flute and English Horn” by Arthur Honegger, said Chu.
“We are very excited to have two distinguished local musicians as our featured soloists, Lynn Douglas-Nicolet on flute and Brent Hages on English horn,” Chu said in a press release. “We also will present an emotional work by Anton Arensky, a gut twisting short piece by Jean Sibelius and a very romantic piece by Arthur Foote. We are very excited and proud to present this very emotionally synchronized concert to the public.”
The program includes “Variations on a Theme of Tchaikovsky” by Arensky. “Valse Triste” by Sibelius and “Serenade for Strings” by Foote.
Pacifica Chamber Orchestra is a non-profit organization that performs five subscription concerts each season in Everett, along with outreach concerts for Snohomish County elementary school students.
