Lord Hill home that sold for $1.35 million offers sweeping views

This is a series taking a look at the most expensive homes sold last year in each region of Snohomish County. Today we’re looking at the central-east part of the county including Snohomish, Monroe and Sultan. (Northwest Multiple Listing Area 750.)

It’s a custom-built home sitting on the top of Lord Hill with floor-to-ceiling views from the grand room of all of Snohomish County.

Two decks adorn the home, a smaller coffee deck built to get sunlight in the morning and a second one to get sunlight in the afternoon.

The Snohomish home sold last year for $1.35 million, making it the most expensive home sold by a Northwest Multiple Listing Service agent in the east-central part of the county.

The 8,000-square-foot house is in the 15000 block of 121st Avenue SE. Built in 2005, the home was billed as having all of the charm of yesteryear with modern amenities of today.

The listing agents were Dustin and Susie Bruce, who work at Century 21 Real Estate Center in Lynnwood, but are based in southeast Snohomish County.

The house was originally owned by a family with a flooring business in Everett. The entire home contained interesting and unique flooring, Dustin Bruce said.

“This place was remarkable,” Bruce said. “It had hand-scraped hardwood floors.”

The house has four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a den and a workout room and a chef’s kitchen. In addition to the view of the valley, the grand room also has a stone-wrapped fireplace.

The home has an elevator that goes from the basement to the second story, an attraction for the family who made the purchase, because they have a relative who would have trouble with so many stairs, Bruce said.
