Grants available to help with financial education
United Way of Snohomish County is offering $50,000 to support financial education and financial coaching serving low- or moderate-income individuals and families. Grants may be used to support classroom instruction, one-on-one counseling or a combination. The application and instructions can be found here. Deadline to apply is March 13. Arlington’s Cascade Companion Care receives praise
Cascade Companion Care has received the Best of Home Care Provider of Choice Award from Home Care Pulse, a Rexburg, Idaho,-based firm. Given to only the top ranking home care providers, the award is based on client satisfaction scores gathered by Home Care Pulse. Cascade Companion Care is a senior care company owned by Jon and Linda Senn of Arlington.
Skydive Snohomish to participate in ‘Safety Day’ event
Skydive Snohomish’s Safety Day is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 14 at 9906 Airport Way, Snohomish. The annual nationwide Safety Day event focuses on making the sport safer and prepares recreational skydivers for the year ahead. Safety Day includes a series of skydiving seminars and training drills for both seasoned skydivers and rookies.
Lake Stevens chamber run planned
The Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce Third Annual Run opens registration at 7 a.m. on March 14 at the Centennial Trail. It includes a kids’ race, 5K and 10K. Health expo planned for minorities in Lynnwood
Serving Our Sisters Health Expo, a free community event formerly known as the Women of Color Health and Beauty Fair, is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 14 at Verdant Community Center, 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. This event will help bring health, safety and community resources to underserved women of color and their families in the community.
Prayer breakfast planned in Everett for Good Friday
The Annual Snohomish County Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the YMCA of Snohomish County, is 6:45 to 8:30 a.m. on April 3 (Good Friday) at the Edward D.
