KENT — Police in the south Seattle suburb of Kent say the driver of a vehicle that was hit by a Sound Transit commuter train was able to escape safely Tuesday evening.
The Seattle Times reported that police Cmdr. Jarod Kasner says the vehicle got caught on the tracks when the barrier arms came down. The driver saw the train approaching and got out before the vehicle was struck.
Kasner says there were no major injuries reported.
A Sound Transit spokesman says the collision happened near the Sounder Station in Kent.
