The Seahawks didn’t have many injuries in Sunday’s win, but one was an unusual and potentially scary one, with left tackle Russell Okung having to go to the hospital because of a chest injury.
“He’s got a chest wall bruise,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “I’m not sure what that all means, but he’s already gone to the hospital. They’ve checked him and he’s been released already. We’ll let you know in a couple of days what’s up with that.”
Okung suffered the injury during interception return on the final play of the first half. He was seen spitting up blood (and shoving a trainer) as he left the field.
The only other injury was Tony Moeaki’s shoulder injury, though Carroll didn’t have a lot of info on that: “He got it banged a little bit. We’ve got to see how he responds, but he did get it banged on a little bit.”
Center Max Unger was inactive as expected, but Carroll said Unger has a “good chance” of playing against Arizona next week.
“The fact that he practiced this last week is a very good sign,” he said. “It would great to get him back out there. He’s dying to come back and play for us.”
