LYNNWOOD — A Lynnwood woman is expected to face criminal charges after threatening to hurt her baby and her boyfriend Sunday evening.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, reportedly jumped from a second-story balcony during a confrontation with officers. The baby and the woman’s boyfriend were unhurt, Lynnwood police Cmdr. Jim Nelson said.
The incident started about 5 p.m. at the Lynnwood Garden Village apartments, 4816 176th St. SW. The woman allegedly told others she planned to stab her baby and her boyfriend, who is in his 40s. Investigators believe the dispute between the man and woman involved relationship issues.
The man was able to escape from the apartment with the baby when the woman saw the officers outside and went out on the balcony, Nelson said.
Police “were attempting to talk to her when she jumped from the balcony,” Nelson said. “An officer on the ground attempted to break her fall and was successful in keeping her from striking the ground full force.”
The woman was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. A criminal investigation continues.
No other injuries were reported.
