EVERETT — The USS Nimitz returned to Naval Station Everett on Tuesday morning.
The aircraft carrier is expected to stay in port until early 2015 before going to Bremerton for maintenance work, Navy spokeswoman Kristin Ching said.
About 3,000 crew members are assigned to the ship.
The Nimitz last left Everett Oct. 14 and had been at sea for training exercises near Southern California. The Nimitz is the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 11.
