Emory’s event raises $30,400 for ChildHope

EVERETT — Emory’s on Silver Lake closed its doors to the public and hosted the second annual An Evening at Emory’s for ChildHope on Tuesday to raise money for ChildHope — Housing Hope’s child development program serving homeless and low-income children and families in Snohomish County.

The event raised $30,400 for the endowment fund and Tomorrow’s Hope Child Development Center.

“There are far too many children that are both physically and emotionally abandoned in our community today,” said Emory Cole, owner of Emory’s on Silver Lake, in a statement. “Housing Hope has sustained a record of providing opportunities to lessen the misfortune of low-income and homeless, or near homeless children, and we are happy to participate in that cause.”

The 115 guests in attendance heard personal stories from speakers about why the ChildHope Imitative is invaluable to the community. ChildHope is comprised of four components:

— In-home child services – a child specialist visits families living in our housing and provides assessments and coaching for parents.

— Parent education at College of Hope – a series of free parenting and life skills classes through the College of Hope program offered to parents living in partnering agencies in the county.

— Tomorrow’s Hope Child Development Center – a 112 slot childcare center for children ages 4 weeks to 12 years old experiencing homelessness or from low-income families.

— Teen parent program – provides 21 units to homeless teen parent, ages 16-23, with parenting classes offered on site.

Major sponsors included: Emory’s on Silver Lake, Windermere Commercial NW and Windermere Property Management NW.
