LYNNWOOD — A house fire on Monday morning near Lynnwood left a 43-year-old woman with serious injuries.
Investigators believe the woman was refueling a kerosene space heater with gasoline — the wrong fuel — when the gasoline ignited and spread.
The fire was reported at 6:47 a.m. at the house in the 1900 block of 199th Place SW.
The woman was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett before being transferred to Harborview Medical Center. No one else was hurt.
Crews responded from Fire District 1 and Lynnwood. The flames were contained to the living room but smoke spread throughout the house.
The American Red Cross was assisting those displaced.
Damage was estimated at $35,000.
