MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Police in Mountlake Terrace are warning neighbors about two recent incidents of attempted child luring.
In both cases, drivers approached students who were walking home, detective Sgt. Mike Haynes said.
On Oct. 23, an older white man with a Russian accent, driving a black four-door Audi, approached two girls in the 23600 block of 48th Avenue W. He said something to them about his car being for sale. The girls’ mother came outside and the man left, Haynes said.
In the second case, on Oct. 29, a white woman with shoulder-length brown hair and orange clothing, also described as having a Russian accent, approached an 11-year-old boy and offered him a ride. She was driving a silver minivan. She asked the boy’s age, again offered him a ride and he told her to go away. That was in the 22500 block of 39th Avenue W.
Anyone who sees something similar happening or has information should call 911.
