Doctor promoted to VP at Premera in Mountlake Terrace

Dr. John Espinola has been promoted to the position of executive vice president of Health Care Services at Premera Blue Cross Mountlake Terrace. In his new role, Espinola will further develop Premera’s relationship with healthcare providers as part of Premera’s continuing efforts to improve its members’ healthcare experience and provide them with access to quality, safe and cost-effective care.

Monroe Rotary seeks to sponsor student who wants to live abroad

The Rotary Club of Monroe seeks to sponsor a student from the Monroe School District to travel and live in a foreign country from August 2015 until July 2016. Students who are currently in the 10th or 11th grade may qualify. Applications can be downloaded from the www.rotaryofmonroe.org. Deadline is Nov. 15.

New spa opens in Edmonds

Slate Salon and Spa is officially open for business at 601 Dayton St. in Edmonds. The company features 18 stylists, four estheticians, a massage therapist and a manicurist. Grand opening held for new Everett hotel

Hampton Inn celebrated its official grand opening of the location at 2931 W. Marine View Drive in Everett on Oct. 9. The new Hampton Inn has views of the Everett waterfront, the Olympic Peninsula and the Puget Sound and is close to Everett Community College, Naval Station Everett and Paine Field.

Post Office hiring for several jobs

The U.S. Postal Service is hiring for new non-career positions at various postal facilities in Washington state. All of these non-career positions could lead to career positions in the future. Groups to maintain Lynnwood Veterans’ Park garden

This fall, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lynnwood VFW Post 1040 will partner with student veterans at Edmonds Community College in maintaining the front garden of the Lynnwood Veterans’ Park on the corner of 44th Ave. W and Veterans’ Way across from the Lynnwood Police Department.
