Bank asks for cute dog photos
1st Security Bank is holding its “Most Awesome Dog Contest” for the second year in a row. Send in a clear, color, web-ready impage of your pooch (no humans) to mostawesomedog@fsbwa.com. Include the pet’s name and breed, your name, email address, ZIP code and phone number. Then, get your family and friends to like the bank’s Facebook page. Photos will be reviewed and then posted through Oct. 24 when the contest closes. The dog with the most “likes” wins. Employees of 1st Security Bank and past winners are not eligible to participate or win.
Port of Everett official appointed to board
Washington State Department of Transportation Secretary Lynn Peterson has appointed John Klekotka, the chief of engineering and planning at the Port of Everett, to represent public ports on the Transportation Improvement Board. Klekotka’s term is effective immediately and expires in June 2018. He will be eligible to serve another four-year term.
Snohomish County PUD crew lauded
A total of 23 Washington men and women, including a PUD crew from Everett, received the Governor’s Lifesaving Award at the 63rd Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Conference on Sept. 25 in Spokane. The Everett crew came to the aid of a bicyclist involved in a crash. Their actions are credited with saving the man’s life.
