EVERETT — Firefighters in Everett rescued a man from a smoke-filled bedroom.
Assistant Fire Marshal Eric Hicks said the man was treated by medics Thursday and taken to a hospital. He was suffering from smoke inhalation.
Hicks said a second man occupying the home was sleeping in a bedroom opposite where the fire started. He was awakened by the sounds of people outside his window and was able to get out.
The fire was confined to a small area of one bedroom. The cause is under investigation.
Hicks said there were no working smoke alarms in the house.
