Edmonds environmental firm hires staff

Edmonds-based Landau Associates has added staff. Stephanie Renando is an environmental technician in the Edmonds office. The company also added in its Seattle office Christel Olsen, a senior staff engineer in the Permitting and Compliance group; Jeffery Whitman, a senior staff engineer in the Geotechnical group; and Seethu Babu, a senior engineer.

TalentWise appoints new president

Bothell’s TalentWise, Inc. has announced that its board of directors promoted Todd C. Owens, the company’s president and chief operating officer, to the position of chief executive officer. They have also elected him to the board for TalentWise. Owens succeeds William Kerr, who has been appointed executive chairman of TalentWise.

Fundraiser at Monroe restaurant benefits Housing Hope

Housing Hope held “An Evening at Adam’s for Monroe Family Village” on July 28 at Adam’s Northwest Bistro and Brewery in Monroe. The event was in support of the non-profit’s latest development, a 47-unit homeless and low-income housing project in Monroe. They raised $10,600. All of Adam’s Bistro staff donated their time and service for the evening.

State: Sales tax revenues grew in 1st quarter

According to a quarterly report released by the Washington State Department of Revenue, the state’s taxable retail sales totals grew to $27.3 billion in the first quarter of 2014, recording a 4.9 percent increase over the same period in 2013. Retail trade, a subset of total taxable retail sales, rose 2.4 percent to $12.3 billion.
