FIFE — Police are looking at the driver of an SUV who dragged an officer who tried to arrest him at a Fife truck stop and then fired at officers chasing him on I-5.
KOMO-TV reported the officer fired as he was being dragged but missed. The officer was treated for cuts at scratches at a hospital.
The incident began about 1 a.m. Monday with an armed robbery in Fife.
David Woods of Fife police say the officer found the suspect vehicle at Love’s Travel Stop where there was a violent struggle.
The man with a woman passenger fled on I-5. Woods says officers saw muzzle flashes, but no officers were hit by the gunfire.
Officers lost sight of the fleeing SUV in Tacoma.
