Come in your pajamas. Don’t worry, be happy. Go at your own pace. The rules of this 5K fun run are to dye for.
Saturday’s Run or Dye in Lake Stevens, billed as a celebration of life, friendship and fitness, is for all walks of life. Runners become part of the rainbow. Through the course, they get showered in cornstarch-based powdered dye and cross the finish line in the middle of a color storm.
The first wave of color-blasting begins at 9 a.m. in downtown Lake Stevens, 1812 Main St., with participants taking off in waves over the next 45 minutes. There is a shuttle station at Lake Stevens High School, 2809 113th Ave. NE.
Packets can be picked up Friday at the Lake Stevens Sports Authority. Pickup at the venue starts at 7 a.m. Saturday.
Cost is $49 for runners 13 and older; $44 for team runners; $39 for military; and $25 for ages 7 to 12. Kids 6 and under are free. Price includes a T-shirt and swag bag.

Tips
Wear all white to soak in and show off the color. Or get costume crazy wearing that old wedding dress, leg warmers or leopard pajamas.
The dye is designed to be washable, but don’t wear your favorite white pants or expensive jeans, just in case.
The dye should wash out of your hair. Should. If you have light-colored hair or if it’s rainy or humid day, add some leave-in conditioner to your hair. Not that there’s anything wrong with walking around with clown hair.
