Del’s Feed store fined by state

Tractor Supply Company, which operates 18 Del’s Feed and Farm Supply Stores in Washington, has settled with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for violating the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act. According to the settlement, the company failed to properly report propane storage at five facilities in Washington including one in Monroe and has agreed to pay a $134,400 penalty to resolve those violations.

Cellar re-opens in Smokey Point

The Cellar restaurant in Smokey Point’s Medallion Hotel re-opened last month under a new management team. Cousins Danny and Paul Pickering from Max Dale’s Steak &Chop House in Mount Vernon and the Stanwood Grill in Stanwood are now bringing their expertise to this venue. The Cellar will feature the cuisine of executive chef David Peterson.

Lynnwood Windermere agents work at YWCA shelter

Last Friday, Lynnwood Windermere associates donated labor to the YWCA’s Pathways for Women shelter as part of the real estate’s company annual Community Service Day. The crew painted the interior, installed new lighting and flooring, organized the supply room and spruced up landscaping using materials donated from local companies. It was part of day of service for Windermere offices around the region. In total, Windermere agents and staff donated more than 55,000 hours of service during this year’s milestone Community Service Day event.

Nominations sought for employers who helped disabled workers

The Washington State Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues &Employment is seeking nominations for the Governor’s Employer Awards and the Governor’s Trophy for employers and individuals who make extra efforts to recruit, hire, promote and retain employees with disabilities.
