EVERETT — A man was fatally stabbed early Monday when he attempted to intervene in a fight between an Everett couple.
The incident was reported about 1:45 a.m. at an apartment in the 8200 block of Fifth Avenue W. When officers arrived, a woman was providing first aid to the victim.
Police learned there had been an argument between a couple at the home. The victim tried to intervene and was stabbed, Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg said.
The alleged attacker had fled. A police dog was used to track him down.
He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of murder. He also was wanted on warrants from King County. The man has convictions for sex offenses.
