People Watching: Whidbey Island Bank names loan officer

Whidbey Island Bank named Theresa Jenkins as real estate loan officer for the bank’s Freeland Branch on Whidbey Island. Jenkins has more than 20 years of lending and real estate experience in the Pacific Northwest. In her new role, she will be responsible for the origination of residential, custom construction, land and building site loans in the South Whidbey area.

Dave Wallin has joined Snohomish Valley Roofing as operations manager. Wallin has spent his career managing projects throughout the Puget Sound, specializing in re-roof and custom builds using composition, metal, tile and cedar shake. He is certified and recommended by Certainteed, Elk, Owens Corning and all Northwest roofing supply companies.

Longtime Snohomish County resident and insurance agent, Randy McDonald, has purchased an Allstate Insurance Agency. It is located at 9724 Edmonds Way in Edmonds. He and his licensed agents offer property/casualty insurance and financial services to individuals, families and businesses.

Sparling has welcomed Joseph Godwin to its Lynnwood office as electrical project manager. Godwin also has experience in commercial, industrial, healthcare and multifamily housing projects.

Business Bank in Burlington has announced that Cathy Griffith has been promoted to SBA lending manager and vice president. Kristi Hennessy, the bank’s controller, was also promoted to vice president. Griffith is a 35-year banking veteran and will be responsible for the expansion of the bank’s SBA lending department. Hennessy has more than 19 years of banking experience.

Dr. Ioana Diaconu has joined the Behavioral Health Services Department at Group Health Everett Medical Center as an adult psychiatrist. Diaconu came to Group Health from her private practice in Kirkland. Prior to that she was chief resident at the University Hospital and Medical Center, State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Christine Heckert, a 33-year banking veteran, has been named senior vice president and SBA manager for Whidbey Island Bank. Joining Heckert in the sales and development area is Steven Evans, vice president and SBA commercial lending officer. Also joining the team is Renee Petit as assistant vice president and SBA credit supervisor and Jennifer Stoves as SBA credit assistant.

Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance announced that Mike Miller is joining PNAA’s Scholarship Program committee to help raise money to educate the next generation of aerospace workers. Miller, a commercial lender with over 30 years of financial experience, is a vice president and commercial relationship manager for Umpqua Bank’s Commercial Banking Center in Tacoma.
