Good Deeds: Edmonds church van gets repair from Lexus of Seattle

Lexus of Seattle has performed maintenance and repairs on the Edmonds Lutheran Church volunteer van. The vehicle keeps the church’s Annie’s Community Kitchen project in operation. The van is vital to the charity as it goes out into the community daily to gather food donations to keep the program running.

The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club recently launched and completed an online crowdfunding campaign to raise money for local non-profit Hand in Hand, an Everett-based nonprofit that provides a safe place for children that have been taken from their homes due to neglect, crime or abuse. The club also chose Hand in Hand as it’s Fund-A-Need for their annual auction.

The MCE Parent Group has received the largest donation to date, $2,313, from IGA grocery store in Granite Falls as part of the Hometown Heroes Community Give Back Program. The IGA Market has been participating in the Give Back Program since 2011. The money is designated for the children of Monte Cristo Elementary.

In December, the Rotary Club of Lynnwood presented a check for $1,000 to the Brigadoon Service Dogs program which provides service dogs to veterans who have been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and other complex physical disorders. This is the second year the Rotary Club of Lynnwood has supported Brigadoon.
