EVERETT — Pamela Shields has joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County, a YMCA affiliate, as executive director. She will oversee the day-to-day branch operations.

EVERETT — Banner Bank has promoted Diana Ortega to bank-officer-level vice president. She will continue in her capacity as a relationship manager and is based out of Banner's Colby Avenue Commercial Banking Center.

ARLINGTON — Integrated Rehabilitation Group has hired Brody Kadow as a certified athletic trainer at Arlington Physical Therapy. The Vancouver, Wash., native will spend much of his time at Arlington High School, where he will evaluate and prevent injuries. Kadow graduated with a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Linfield College in Oregon.

EDMONDS — Terwedo Financial Services has hired Colette Roberge as operations assistant. She brings with her seven years of bookkeeping and accounting experience and 11 years of customer service experience.

OAK HARBOR — Washington Banking Co. has two new board members. Rhoda Altom and Deborah Gavin were also elected to serve on the board of Whidbey Island Bank, a subsidiary. Altom is a real estate investor and manager. Gavin worked at the Boeing Co. for more than 20 years.

EVERETT — Karen Petersen-Devier recently joined the team at LeaderOne Financial in Everett as a senior mortgage banker. Previously, she spent eight years as a home mortgage consultant with a local bank. Petersen-Devier specializes in assisting first-time home buyers, investors and self-employed borrowers.

BOTHELL — Lovsted Worthington has made Steven Colson a principal partner within the firm. He joined Lovsted Worthington in 2006. As a commercial producer, Colson's clientele includes law firms, private foundations, for-profit and nonprofit firms, social service, arts organizations, private schools, industry associations, housing foundations and accounting firms.

SEATTLE — Sean Koenig has joined Peoples Bank as a business services representative serving Snohomish and King counties. He will work with current and prospective bank clients to develop cash management solutions for small and medium-sized firms. He will also provide merchant bankcard processing. He is a lifelong resident of Snohomish County.

LYNNWOOD — Banner Bank has hired Dale Peterson as its newest real estate loan officer. He will work from the bank's Alderwood branch in Lynnwood. He will pull from more than 30 years experience in the mortgage lending and retail banking industries to guide his clients. Previous to this position, he worked at 1st Reverse Mortgage USA.

MOUNT VERNON — Matt Fisher has returned to BrandQuery LLC in Mount Vernon in the role of senior designer. He has more than 17 years experience in advertising and graphic design and a degree in design and visual communications from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

EVERETT — John Pennington, Snohomish County's Department of Emergency Management director, has completed the Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Homeland Defense and Security. He is a former FEMA regional director and current adjunct faculty member for FEMA's Emergency Management Institute.

EVERETT — Snohomish County Public Works Director Steven Thomsen has been selected as the new chairman for the Puget Sound Regional Council's Regional Project Evaluation Committee, which prioritizes Puget Sound transportation projects for federal funding.

EVERETT — Windermere Real Estate in Everett has welcomed two new associates. They are Brianne Field and Debbie Long.

EVERETT — Mountain Pacific Bank has promoted Kirby Duncan to senior vice president and chief credit officer. Duncan began his career at US Bank and served in a variety of roles at Towne Bank, Business Bank and Whidbey Island Bank. In 2008 he joined Mountain Pacific as a senior lender.

MONROE — Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. has appointed Jeannine Laitres national training manager. Laitres has an extensive background in the cabinet business and has been with Canyon Creek for almost 13 years. She worked with the company's product development team and design services program.

EVERETT — Banner Bank has hired Jac-e Albertsen as a real estate loan officer. Most recently she was a loan officer for Whidbey Island Bank.

MARYSVILLE — Dakota Williams of Marysville has become a new junior member of the American Angus Association. Junior members are eligible to register cattle in the association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in association shows and other national and regional events.

EVERETT — The YMCA of Snohomish County has hired Tami Farber as director of community engagement, diversity and inclusion, and education. Farber will serve as the primary community advocate for the YMCA Minority Achievers Program and offer program support and development of growth opportunities.

BOTHELL — The University of Washington Board of Regents has approved a proposal to name three deans to head three schools at University of Washington-Bothell. They are Bruce Burgett for the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, Sandeep Krishnamurthy for the School of Business, and Elaine Scott for the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

EVERETT — Jesse Thomsen has been promoted to Perteet's Seattle design manager, managing its Seattle office design staff. His focus will be on sustainable project design and multimodal corridors that enhance public transportation.

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — 1st Security Bank has named Alycia Edmonds to the position of loan officer. A Seattle native, Edmonds began her lending career in 2005. She is a graduate of the University of Washington and the Xinnix Academy. She will work at the bank's administrative center.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, a nonprofit organization working to accelerate energy efficiency in the Northwest, elected Jim West as chairman of its 2013 board of directors. West has served as the assistant general manager of customer and energy services for Snohomish County PUD since February 2009, and most recently served as NEEA's board secretary.

SEATTLE — Tilth Producers of Washington has named veteran sustainable-agriculture leader Michele Catalano as its new executive director. She is chairwoman of the state Department of Agriculture's Organic Advisory Board, a position she has held for the past decade. Most recently, Catalano worked as director of sales and community relations for Full Circle Farm.
