EVERETT — Dave Schlosser was promoted from operations responsibilities to vice president and director of sales, announced Electronic Business Machines President Brian Landgren. Schlosser earned his degree from Western Washington University and began working full time for Electronic Business Machines right after graduation. He has held nearly every position at the company

SNOHOMISH — Longtime airport industry professional Gary Green, a resident of Liberty Lake, recently was appointed as executive director of the Washington Airport Management Association. Green is accredited by the American Association of Airport Executives. He will report to the association board of directors and will raise public awareness of the importance and economic significance of airports. Kandace Harvey, owner of Harvey Field in Snohomish, is president of the association.

BELLEVUE — Marysville chiropractor Dr. Vuong Vo is joining the Washington Center for Pain Management. He is now accepting patients at the group's new Bellevue facility. Vo will work full time with the Washington Center for Pain Management Monday through Friday, and treat patients at his clinic, Performance Chiropractic, on Saturdays.

MUKILTEO — Windermere Real Estate in Mukilteo welcomed new agent, JulieRae Israel. She has more than 30 years experience in real estate sales, starting out in Colorado with Red Carpet Colorado Properties Inc. More recently, she was a part of John L. Scott's Belltown office in downtown Seattle.

EVERETT — The Everett Police Department has welcomed two new officers. Both completed the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy on Sept. 11 and were sworn in by the city council on Oct. 3. Justin Rasco graduated from Cascade High School and received an associate's degree in criminal justice from Everett Community College. Paul Meehan served in the Ohio Army National Guard as a second lieutenant and was deployed to Afghanistan for 12 months.

EVERETT — The Dance School, a nonprofit organization in Everett, has named Heidi Heimarck as its new managing director. Heimarck is a playwright, producer and generative theater artist who moved to Everett from Seattle to manage Artspace Everett Lofts with her husband, Liam. She has more than 20 years of actively creating, producing and promoting new, original works for the stage.

EVERETT — Everett Housing Authority Executive Director Bud Alkire was recently presented with a lifetime achievement award by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. He was recognized for his efforts in providing for housing needs within the city of Everett and Snohomish County and for demonstrating a commitment to the people he serves within the community.

EVERETT — The Everett Clinic, one of the largest independent group practices in the Pacific Northwest, announced the addition of attorney Christopher Knapp as its chief legal officer. The Everett resident and University of Washington graduate comes to the clinic from the Anderson Hunter law firm, where he was the managing partner and a shareholder.

EVERETT — Dr. T. Spark Corwin from Western Washington Medical Group's urology department, has been recognized as a Patients' Choice physician. The Patients' Choice Award was given to only five percent of the 870,000 active U.S. physicians in 2012. Corwin is skilled in the latest techniques in stone disease, minimally invasive surgery, laser surgery, laparoscopic surgery, prostate cancer, kidney cancer and vasectomy.

BOTHELL — The chancellor of the University of Washington-Bothell, Kenyon Chan, has announced he will complete his tenure as chancellor at the end of the 2012-13 academic year. The announcement was made at an Oct. 9 town hall meeting. Chan presided over the UW-Bothell campus during a time of unprecedented growth and success.

MUKILTEO — Windermere Real Estate in Mukilteo has hired a new assistant manager. Dora Carelli has more than 20 years experience in real estate sales, marketing and sales management. She also has special expertise in mid-rise and high-rise condo communities as well as master plan residential and resort communities. She holds more than 100 marketing and sales awards on a local and national level.

EVERETT — Everett Community College communications instructor Lori Wisdom-Whitley has won an exemplary status award from the Washington Community Colleges Humanities Association. Wisdom-Whitley of Tulalip has coordinated EvCC's Tuesday Travelogue series since 2008 and is also a member of the Humanities Center Faculty Steering Committee. She has worked at EvCC since 1994.

MARYSVILLE — Greenpoint Technologies has announced promotion of Mark Keilholz to senior director of information technology. Keilholz joined Greenpoint Technologies in 2003 as an IT intern and has held several positions across the organization. Most recently, he led the integration of financial management and reporting systems between Greenpoint's Marysville, Kirkland and Denton, Texas, facilities.

LAKE STEVENS — Lake Stevens School Board member Mari Taylor has been elected as the 2013 president-elect of the Washington State School Directors' Association Board of Directors. The association provides professional development, advocacy, policy, informational and other services to the state's school boards. Taylor will be introduced and sworn into office at the conference general session on Nov. 17.

EDMONDS — Gary Choo, founder of GTC Financial Services Inc., has joined the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He brings a unique breadth of experience in financial planning, technology and entrepreneurship. In addition to expanding the chamber's presence in the Highway 99 business district, Choo will seek to engage new leaders, including those in the Korean-American business community, and will join the chamber's Economic Development Committee. Choo specializes in comprehensive portfolio management and personalized financial planning services.

MUKILTEO — Windermere Real Estate in Mukilteo has hired a new agent, Tracey Rodrigue. She has more than 16 years experience in real estate sales and holds a degree in education from Western Washington University, which she relies on to help clients understand the complexities of a transaction. A resident of Mukilteo for the past 15 years, Rodrigue is an active volunteer in her two sons' school community, and is also a founding board member of Washington State Hands and Voices, a nonprofit supporting families with children who have hearing loss.

LYNNWOOD — Crane Aerospace & Electronics has announced the appointment of Arnee Gomez as vice president of human resources for the aerospace group. Gomez will be based in Lynnwood and will lead the intellectual capital process and all human resource functions for the aerospace group sites, including Lynnwood; Elyria, Ohio; Burbank, Calif.; and Lyon, France.

LAKE STEVENS — Vern and Donna Foster, owners of Foster Press, have purchased Lakeside Awards LLC of Lake Stevens. Adding trophies to their current offerings of garment, promotional, digital and offset printing was a natural complement to the Fosters' business. They plan to continue serving the clientele that has been developed since Lakeside Awards opened 12 years ago. KIRKLAND — Otak Inc., a local engineering firm with offices in Everett, Kirkland and Vancouver, Wash., has announced that Nico Vanderhorst has been elected to the firm's board of directors. With 17 years at the company, Vanderhorst works out of Kirkland, where he leads the firm's transportation and infrastructure services team. He joins company CEO R. Nicholas Loope, Jong Hoon Kim, Soon Kwang Lee and Kwang Sik Shin on the board.

SEATTLE — Sparling marketing manager Sandy Chapin will serve as president-elect for the Society for Marketing Professional Services Seattle chapter. Chapin's responsibilities include attending monthly board meetings, serving as the board liaison on committees, initiating the process of assembling and electing the board for the next year and special projects.

SILVERDALE — Navy Facilities Northwest announced that Ray Akins was selected as the Robert V. Ronick-Navy Fleet Manager of the Year for 2012. Akins is passionate about alternative fuels and what their increased use means to the Navy. His efforts include bringing alternative fuels to the region's naval installations, which has resulted in a 300 percent increase in alternative fuels usage and a 50 percent decrease in petroleum usage. Akins is increasing electrical infrastructure capability at Naval Station Everett and Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton to support a larger fleet of electric vehicles and exchanging on-base petroleum fueled vehicles with electric vehicles through the General Services Administration's normal rotation.
