MUKILTEO -- Bail was set at $100,000 each Wednesday for four suspects accused of a home invasion robbery that involved gunfire at a Mukilteo home.

The break-in near the 9800 block of Marine View Drive Monday night was drug related, Mukilteo police officer Cheol Kang said Wednesday.

The victim had marijuana plants as part of what was described as "a collective medical marijuana garden," Kang said.

"Three of the adults in the home had a medical marijuana prescription," Kang said. "It was definitely within the state guidelines" for what is allowed.

The four suspects wore masks and left the victim's home with marijuana, according to court papers.

The suspects, ages 24, 23, 19, and 18, are from Kent. Each made a brief appearance in Everett District Court Wednesday.

Detectives got a search warrant and found a handgun in the car that was believed to be used during the robbery, Kang said. Police also recovered "a large duffel bag in the back seat with marijuana in it," according to court records,

The men were being held at the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of robbery, burglary, assault and drive-by shooting.

Three people pushed their way inside when the homeowner, 44, answered the door, Kang said.

The victim's daughters and their friends showed up during the robbery.

Witnesses told police they heard the sound of a gunshot inside the home.

One of the homeowner's daughters and a friend told police they were held at gunpoint and told not to move. They, and five other witnesses, said the suspects left in a vehicle, court papers said.

A gunshot reportedly was fired from the car, a dark 1996 Saturn, as it left the scene.

The vehicle was spotted by officers near Harbour Pointe Boulevard and the Mukilteo Speedway.

The car struck two vehicles waiting at the intersection and kept going.

It stopped near the 10500 block of the Mukilteo Speedway where all four suspects ran from the vehicle into the nearby woods. They were tracked down by police.

The victim suffered facial lacerations from being struck with a pistol during the robbery.

He received medical treatment at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and was released.
