Expedited title service begins Tuesday

EVERETT -- Anyone who needs to get their state-issued car or boat title in a hurry should soon be able to take care of business at the Snohomish County Auditor's Office in Everett.

The Quick Title service, with a planned Snohomish County rollout on Tuesday, eliminates the need to wait for the state to send the title in the mail. Currently, people also have the option of driving to a state Department of Licensing Office in Olympia for an expedited title, which is usually handed out at the counter.

The service costs $50, plus applicable registration and plate fees. It's available for most vehicle and vessel transactions, with restrictions for certain damaged or rebuilt vehicles.

Starting late this year, licensing subagents elsewhere in the county might also be eligible to offer expedited titles.

For more information, call 425-388-3371, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays or 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
