KENT -- A Kent police car struck a 13-year-old girl Tuesday night, and police say it was her fault.

Police say she attempted to walk across a street about 70 feet from a crosswalk and emerged suddenly from between stopped vehicles into the path of the officer who was responding to a routine call.

Police say the girl's injuries do not appear to be serious.
