Weekend fun: Garden show, Mariners, travel and more

    Meerkerk Gardens on Whidbey Island is celebrating spring on Saturday by teaching children how to make a garden fairy.

Garden: The Everett Home & Garden show is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You'll find plenty of vendors as well as a variety of speakers and classes. Get more info in our story here.

Travel: Well, OK, you'll only be traveling to Edmonds. But after that, you'll be ready to go nearly anywhere in Europe. Rick Steves' European Travel Festival offers travel seminars are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The event is free but you need to register. Get the details in our story here.

Tulips:The tulips are blooming and the weather is looking promising for this weekend. In addition to the lovely tulips, there's a lot going on. Check it out in our story here.

Fairies: When all the rest of the county is heading north to the tulips today, hop on a ferry to Whidbey for a little “Meerkerk Magic.” The rhododendron garden is entering its peak blooming season, so it's time for the garden's tradition teaching children how to make their own garden fairy from the natural wonders found in the 10-acre site. Skating: Seattle Skating Club is hosting a professionally choreographed show Friday night and Saturday at the Olympicview Ice Arena, 22202 70th Avenue W., Mountlake Terrace. The show is to honor 75 years of the club. The show is at 7 Friday night and Saturday 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. For more information, go to the club's website.

Shop: A baby and children's clothing sale is planned Saturday in Lynnwood. The Snohomish County Mothers of Multiples fundraiser is set for 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Edmonds Community College, Seaview Gym, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood.
