EVERETT -- A Lake Stevens man who allegedly wore a wig and bra as a disguise while sneaking into a women's locker room at Everett Community College on Thursday afternoon has been arrested for investigation of voyeurism.

The suspect, 20, a student at the college, was found to have a pair of women's underwear in his pants pocket, according to court documents.

A staff member at the college who was suspicious of the suspect told Everett police she saw him go into the women's locker room.

She followed the man in and, once inside, told two women to leave, court papers said. She then called security. The man, dressed up to resemble a woman, was detained until police arrived.

The suspect told police he needed to use the bathroom.

"The arrest happened inside the women's locker room," EvCC spokeswoman Katherine Schiffner said. "There are showers and bathrooms in the locker room."

The suspect also is under investigation for a separate voyeurism incident in the college's locker room earlier in the week, Everett police Lt. Robert Goetz said. He allegedly told investigators he showered in the locker room.

He reportedly cut a hole in a shower curtain and watched a woman take a shower, according to police reports.

A judge on Friday released the suspect pending the filing of charges.

The student also is now under a separate investigation by the college, said John Olson, EvCC vice president of college advancement.

"In general, student conduct violations can meet with a range of disciplinary actions from a warning to dismissal," Olson said.
