DAVIE, Fla. — A person familiar with the negotiations says Miami Dolphins nose tackle Paul Soliai has signed a $12 million, two-year contract to remain with the team.
The person confirmed the deal to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the Dolphins hadn't announced an agreement.
The deal includes $6 million guaranteed. Last year Soliai played under a franchise-tag contract that guaranteed him about $12.5 million. He'll be a free agent again in 2014.
The 355-pound Soliai anchored the Dolphins' defense and went to the Pro Bowl for the first time last season, making the trip as a roster replacement. He was a fourth-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2007 and has started since 2009.
