UW Bothell offers certificate in nonprofit management

BOTHELL – The Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Program at the University of Washington Bothell will begin offering the Certificate in Nonprofit Management this fall.

The nine-month certification program allows students to develop leadership skills and gain the ability to assume the many roles required of a successful nonprofit manager. Topics covered include: financial stewardship, effective program evolvement, community relations and communication development.

“The nonprofit management certificate aligns perfectly with our general curriculum and its emphasis on the integration of academic learning and professional development,” says IAS program director Bruce Burgett. “Offering the certificate at UW Bothell is an important element of our commitment to the vitality of the region.”

The course curriculum is designed to benefit current nonprofit professionals and board members, professionals seeking a career in the nonprofit sector, consultants and individuals from private or government sectors who wish to explore careers in nonprofit management.

The program was designed in partnership with the UW Evans School of Public Affairs and UW Professional and Continuing Education.

Applications are being accepted for the program, which begins in September. To learn more, go to www.uwb.edu/newdegrees.
