Marysville city administrator Mary Swenson has retired. She worked more than 32 years for the city of Marysville and has been city administrator since 2001. Community Development Director Gloria Hirashima will replace Swenson as Chief Administrative Officer.
Skagit Valley Medical Center has announced the expansion of dermatologic services to Arlington through affiliate Cascade Family Medical Group. Tom Langei, MD will join Cascade Family Medical Group. He is a board certified dermatologist and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Local artist Joel Patience, whose work is represented by Semantics Gallery in Edmonds, will have one of his watercolor paintings depicted on the cover of The Daniel Smith Company summer national catalog. In addition, Coldwell Banker Bain in Edmonds will be showing watercolors by Patience in its offices in April.
Christmas House announced its 2010 slate of officers following a recent board meeting. Rick Kvangnes will serve as president, Pam Sorenson as vice-president, Hope Ringstad as secretary and Rosemary Randall as treasurer.
Handyman Matters has named local craftsman Oleg Malamura as “Craftsman of the Year for 2009” at the company's national franchise convention held in Jacksonville, FL.
Cathy Reines, CEO & President of First Heritage Bank, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Western Independent Bankers.
Kirkland-based Northwest Multiple Listing Service has announced new board members. These include Diedre Haines, the regional managing broker of Coldwell Bank Bain Associates for Snohomish County. Meribeth Hutchings of Windermere Real Estate in Lake Stevens was elected to a three-year term as a director.
Coast|Sperry Van Ness has added R. Tom Smith as a new Senior Advisor. The company also announced that the Jansen Multifamily Team of Josh Jansen, Todd Thompson and Matt Wilson represented both buyer and seller in the February sale of Holly Tree Apartments in Kent in February. Senior Advisor, Blake Stedman, who represented Sumers Real Estate in the purchase of a warehouse in the Marysville Industrial Park, was also congratulated by Coast|Sperry Van Ness.
Jeff Biermanski has joined D.A. Davidson & Co. in Everett as vice president and financial consultant. In addition, it was announced that Jeffrey Decker has been elected to the board of directors for D.A. Davidson & Co. The Microsoft Partner Research Panel has selected the president of IntegrIT Network Solutions, Inc., Larry Owens to participate on the panel and help evolve and improve the Microsoft Partner Network and the Microsoft products for small businesses.
Play It Again Sports Lynnwood franchise owner Greg Bauman has been honored with a sales excellence award. The announcement was made at a company convention in Las Vegas last month.
Oak Harbor resident Robert Severns has been elected to the board of directors at Washington Banking Co. and Whidbey Island Bank. The Oak Harbor City Council member is also the president of Chicago Title Insurance Company, Island Division.
Cheryl Desrosier has opened a Windermere Real Estate office in Granite Falls. A grand opening for the firm is planned for noon on April 10. The office will have seven agents and focus on residential, commercial and land sales.
Frontier Bank has announced that Michael Vranizan has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Private Banking Relationship Manager. The graduate of the Seattle University School of Law has more than 40 years of experience in the fields of trust, estate planning and private wealth management.
Larry A. Scott of Snohomish, founder of 911 ETC, Inc. is being honored at the 7th annual “9-1-1 Honors Gala” in Washington D.C. He will receive the Industry Leader Award. The award honors individuals in the commercial sector who make exceptional contributions towards the advancement of emergency 9-1-1 communications.
The Everett Clinic announced that Robert Fink, M.D. has been selected as a Fellow by the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Fink will be recognized at the Annual APA meeting in New Orleans in May.
The Everett Mall has won two silver awards from the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. Specifically mentioned in the awards were marketing director Julie Tennyson, marketing assistant Jodi Peterson and retired general manager Linda Johannes. Also mentioned were director of corporate retail marketing Kristi Keene and Jennifer Ward, graphic designer.
Pat Giles, Vice President of John L. Scott Real Estate's marketing, interactive marketing, and IS departments recently received the “Microsoft Innovation Award” for leadership. The award is given to customers who leverage new and innovative technologies from Microsoft to advance their business in creative, emergent, and innovative ways.
